Accomodation & Facilities

  • Yes, our resorts are private and for exclusive use of the attending group. Members of the public are not permitted entrance to our resorts.

  • Of our two resort on Tioman Island, 'Riverview' is our largest and can accommodate up to 160 students plus accompanying staff. Our second resort, 'Lagoon', can accommodate up to 90 students plus staff. For large groups of up to 250 students both resorts may be utilised if necessary.

  • As befits an outdoor education center and our environmental aims, our rooms are clean, well maintained but basic. All rooms contain fans rather than air conditioning and are naturally ventilated. Toilets and shower facilities are on-suite for each room.

Students are allocated individual rooms in groups of 3 - 8 depending upon location and room provided.

  • Our resorts are located at the southern and northern rivers mouths in Kampung Juara. These locations allow us direct access to a diverse range of environmental habitats, including rainforest, mangrove and beach ecosystems.

  • Our in house catering teams are proficient in providing healthy, diverse  and nutritious menus for all group sizes. Food stocks are supplied by well know, reputable sources and meals are designed to be balanced and plentiful. Our kitchens are inspected and rated 'A' by governmental agencies.

Dietary requirement information for individual students is included in our registration process.

Tioman itself is located 54.5km off of the east coast of Malaysia.

  • Yes, we can provide a full travel logistics package using professional and reputable travel providers.

  • If preferred then we can provide full travel and medical insurance for all participants.

  • Whilst this is usually unnecessary, we can provide a chaperone service to assist with travel, border crossings, etc. This may be particularly useful for younger groups and/or 'first-time' trips.

Project-Based

Student Requirements

  • A full packing list will be provided along with a parent's information pack once a trip has been confirmed. All items on the list are easy to find and cheap to purchase if the student doesn't already own them.

  • Mobile phones, laptops, tablets, etc. are not allowed on our trips unless specified otherwise. If at any time during a trip a parent needs to contact a student or visa versa, this is easily achievable through both our and the school's management protocol.

  • All individual requirements should be noted on the comprehensive online trip registration form. If there is anything of concern within the registration then we will contact the school or parent (as required) to discuss the requirement and how it will be dealt with.

Medical & Emergency

  • As a regular provider of Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) training to the outdoor education industry we fully understand what is required to provide an emergency response medical team. Both of our resorts are well stocked with advanced first aid supplies. In the field our instructors carry comprehensive  supplies and each team of instructors will have, as a minimum, one WAFA trained individual.

  • There is a full government klinik located in Kampung Tekek, approximately 30 minutes from our resorts.

  • We have a comprehensive Covid-19 Policy and Procedure. These are reviewed on an ongoing basis to ensure conformance with the latest advice and regulations from both the Malaysian and Singaporean Ministries of Health as well as the W.H.O.

For a copy of the latest revision please contact us.

  • Contact numbers for both our management and the school's representative on the trip will be given to parents before the trip proceeding. These can be used at any time should contact be required. Our registration process requires the contact numbers of parents in case of emergency/requirement for a contact form on site. This information is kept for the duration of the trip only.

  • All medical conditions are required to be highlighted when registering for the trip. This includes any prescription medicine etc. Unless otherwise stated, all prescription medicines are collected by the accompanying teacher on the morning of departure. These will be administered as required during the trip and returned to the student/parent upon return.

Equipment & Training

  • The equipment that we use and provide is some of the best available on the international market.

Equipment is chosen for its proven performance and suitability to the task at hand and procured through trusted vendors that we have long-term relationships with.

This process helps to increase not only the safety of participants but their comfort, and therefore engagement, in any given activity.

  • All equipment is inspected periodically as per international best practices. Individual inspection procedures are dependent upon the specific item.

  • Our instructors are trained to an international level dependent upon their specific role within our company. In addition to this, we give our own in-house training to all instructor and assistant staff to ensure that our high levels of safety and professional conduct are maintained.

  • We can provide a variety of training and consultancy services both to organisations and individuals. Please contact us with your requirements for further information.
