Led by an international team of educators, Little Planet is passionate about creating transformational outdoor experiential education programs that strive to promote the values encapsulated in our four Cs!
“...students explore aspects of our academic, social and emotional curriculum as they trek, sea-kayak and engage with conservation efforts.”
We have worked collaboratively with Little Planet over the years to tailor a rewarding, week-long experience for our new Gr. 10 Students, which they have always loved. The program has been designed as such that the outcomes of the experience align with the College’s educational and wellbeing goals, ensuring students explore aspects of our academic, social and emotional curriculum as they trek, sea-kayak and engage with conservation efforts.
This has helped students make connections to the "real world", deepen their understanding of the complexity of systems and our interconnectedness as a group and to the wider community, not to mention doing all this in an incredible environment!

“...with the support of Little Planet, students completed their iGCSE coursework for Geography. The title was: What are the Impacts of Tourism on the Island of Tioman.”
Little Planet put together a bespoke programme that was tailored to our needs. The program involved environmental surveys along the beach, a meeting with a local elder and a guided, educational tour of the waste management facility on the island.
It was a truly fantastic trip where the students were able to collect the data they required for the coursework. In addition to the data collection, the Little Planet team organised adventurous activities and group initiatives throughout the trip.

“All activities are challenging but fun, while the learning and skills development the students obtain is clear and significant.”
We have been in a partnership with Little Planet since 2015, where they provide one of our 'Yeargroup' trips during our annual Trips Week. We have always been extremely impressed and grateful for the impactful service-learning projects and adventurous personal development activities they build into our 5-day schedule each year.
All activities are challenging but fun, while the learning and skills development the students obtain is clear and significant. The location is incredibly beautiful and the sustainability focus woven into all activities and partnerships with the local community, such as Juara Turtle Project, really broaden the student's minds and provide them with invaluable real-world experiences.
In addition to our Year Group trips, Little Planet also provided a great Duke of Edinburgh International Award 'Adventurous Journey' for a group of Bronze Award participants. We cannot wait to resume our trips with them!

“Little Planet has adapted to our evolving curriculum and Service Learning integrations, ensuring the expeditions are also opportunities for students to connect to the natural world…”
Since 2008, Little Planet has been an excellent trip provider for SJII. They manage our staff and students well, ensuring that they are safe and thoroughly enjoying themselves. Activities on the expeditions are pitched correctly to challenge students but also to be inclusive of varying abilities within the group.
Little Planet has adapted to our evolving curriculum and Service Learning integrations, ensuring the expeditions are also opportunities for students to connect to the natural world and become more aware of global issues that affect our global community.

“ ...a field trip to Tioman reminds me every time that there are groups of people who love the sea, corals and turtles, and they are doing what they can to manage human impact on the environment.”
UNM has been conducting our Tropical Environmental Science Field Course at Little Planet for several years now. Tioman is a fantastic location for the students to learn about marine, mangrove, and terrestrial ecology.
Little Planet often showcases waste management initiatives they have introduced into the community while The Juara Turtle Project provides students exposure to marine turtle conservation.
The effort by Little Planet and their allies in Tioman are certainly commendable and are excellent real-life case studies for my students.
“The support of Little Planet has been key to the success of our long running Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) field trips to Tioman.“
Little Planet has consistently gone to great lengths to accommodate our needs in order to make our trips truly unique while helping us achieve our aims as we carry out our research.
The site itself is spectacular, the food is one of the highlights of the trip and the accommodation is comfortable and quiet.
“...a very experienced adventure education provider in the region with a careful eye on international safety standards…”
Little Planet's dedication to hosting our long-standing (c. 2004) bi-annual Grade 6 adventurous learning programmes as well as the development and delivery of custom Grade 9 and Grade10 programmes at their properties on beautiful Tioman Island in Malaysia, has been nothing short of impressive!
Overall, a very experienced adventure education provider in the region with a careful eye on international safety standards and an adaptable solutions-oriented outlook, committed to meeting the client's needs.
A Huge thank you to the extended Little Planet team for playing such a significant role in the history of our OE program. We look forward to returning soon.
